Chilly
Towleroad makes mention of the Tim Hardaway story. As odd as it might sound, I don't have a problem with him making these comments. Better to find the cancer early, so that it can be removed before it spreads. The NBA removed him from all further appearances. His comments, whether he apologized later or not, are a matter of public record. The people have seen the words, and he will eventually end up exactly where he belongs. It's just not at the NBA All-Star Game. And, I'm not foolish enough to think that the NBA is, all of a sudden, gay-tolerant. There is a bigger discussion regarding homophobia in the pro sports locker room; I am only touching on the surface of this incident with my quick opinion.
My friend Sam has a new project up and available for listening. Good stuff.
Had an excellent meal at Ray's The Classics last night. It's a contemporary spin on the classic steak house, but with a menu that goes beyond beef. The dining room feels very open, with the AFI Silver marquee rolling and flashing across the street. Downtown Silver Spring is now home to two of my preferred restaurants.
It's very cold and icy here in DC. This horrible accident, which occurred last night, does not appear to be related to the weather. There are some terrible intersections in DC, and that location (7th and Pennsylvania NW) is one of them. I walked through that intersection a few days ago, and even in broad daylight, it is a mess. Some bus drivers in DC also leave something to be desired. Let me rephrase that: most drivers in DC leave a lot to be desired.
Is the blog looking normal again? It should be centered in the window, with a 30 pixel border on top. If not, let me know your OS and browser, along with the problem. Thanks to those who sent code, and advice.

All Set.
Finally, the blog looks the same as it did this morning. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. Stay warm!
Almost There
Thanks to Scott Kramer for the prompt help. The blog is centered. Is anyone else finding the wrapper not fitting tight to the top of the banner? If anyone has ideas, I'm all ears.
Code Help Needed
This morning, Blogger forced me to upgrade my account. In doing so, the code which centered my blog in windows larger than 720 px has been broken. Is there anyone out there who can give me a quick code clean up? Thanks in advance.

Week In Review
The cold weather set in this past week. I have no room to complain, though. Watching the news coverage of the snow storms in central New York brings back all kinds of childhood memories. I remember the hum of snow blowers, cutting narrow paths, connecting snow-covered homes to (hopefully) plowed roads. Some winters, when the drifting was so severe, one could walk straight onto the roof to clear the snow. The weight of the snow could collapse a roof, as well as water and structural damage occurring from icicles forming along the drain pipes and eaves.

Monday through Wednesday, nothing but studio work, and cooking for the guys. Tuesday's supper was a winner: a home made dish of grilled chicken breast and bratwurst, sauteed with cannellini and brown rice. Very tasty and filling, especially after a long cold work and workout day.
Thursday, a fun downtown afternoon. I sometimes go long stretches of time without leaving my neighborhood - and downtown is less than two miles away! We took in the Joseph Cornell and Josephine Baker exhibits, and a wonderful lunch at Zaytinya. That evening, SMDF was quieter than usual, but no less sexy and fun.
Friday, a quick run through the WOOF gauntlet. A bunch of us retired to the ranch for dinner and a movie. A slow cooker pork roast with roots, followed by Election.
Saturday, breakfast and a good workout. Some last minute preparations, then off to the club for this month's BLOWOFF! Jeff and Oliver came down from NYC; the DC bloggerati (partial list: Clickboo, Jimbo, Durban Bud, Copperred, Bubula and Mumi, Chrisafer) were in attendance. The crowd makes the event - everyone has such a good time, it is really somethin to behold. We are all so lucky to be having this much fun!
My first set highlights included Demon's "Happy Therapy" (video and perfume), Planetakis' "Pogo In The Shoes Of Kylie Minogue" (band site and myspace audio), and Van She's remix of Klaxons' "Gravity's Rainbow" (AUDIO ALERT). Second set faves were the club mix of Bob Sinclar's "Tennessee" and the Tall Paul remix of Keane's "Is It Any Wonder".
Sunday was a touch warmer. The boys bought a new house, so we went to see it while it is empty. Coffee and stories, followed by a quiet night at home watching The Grammys. The Police were disappointing, Gnarls Barkley were interesting, and I fell asleep before the end of the show. OK Go won best short form video for a home made treadmill flick that aired on YouTube. All five songs nominated for Best Song had three or four credited writers. Did anyone care about all of that? Prince's Super Bowl appearance blew all of this stuff away.

Weekend In Review
The cold weather is finally here in DC. While walking home last night, I realized how much of a wimp I have become (about cold weather) since moving to DC. Zero wind chill used to be nothing to think about; now, when stepping out, I am wrapped like a mummy.

Thursday night, a quick trip to SMDF. Friday night, WOOF. Lots of blogger cameos on Friday, including Clickboo, Durban Bud, and Copperred.
Saturday, breakfast with the guys; two surprise additions brought the total to six in a medium size booth. Very cramped, but fun. A coffee stop in the 'hood; a quick trip to Pentagon City, which was the typically interesting mix of normal mall goers, bored military, and neighborhood peeps; more coffee and stories. That evening, a group of us watched Talledega Nights at the ranch. It was an OK movie; we all had a great time eating home made brownies by the roaring fire.
Sunday, I ran into a dear friend who I hadn't seen in months. He is releasing two books this year. Later on, I attended a wonderful Super Bowl party hosted by my friend John. Many familiar faces were in the house, great food and fun conversation. Prince's halftime performance ruled; Stereogum sums it up, and gives us the AV links.

Free music - get it while you can. Rich plays this song at BLOWOFF; it's a good pop-electronica blend.
No word on the data recovery. I want to know what's up - I have to get back to work tomorrow!

Super Bowl Preview
My three reasons to watch the Super Bowl.

3. The K-Fed / Burger King ad.
2. Prince.
1. Brian Urlacher, my man crush. Go Bears!

You know you're getting old when, while watching Wolf Blitzer on CNN, this ad appears. I should be happy I have made it this far.
